About us...
Barkleys Dog Training Academy is a group of experienced trainers who employ only force-free and positive reinforcement techniques, trained and accredited by IMDT to deliver the highest possible quality of dog training. We tailor the training to you whether its group classes or 1-2-1 training sessions at a location of your choice.
We aim to make training as fun and rewarding as possible for you and your dog, using modern and motivation-based methods along with a range of tips and tricks depending on your goal and the issues you are having. Our friendly approach to training makes both you and your dog feel at ease, and encourages a great relationship between you and your dog based on trust and learning.
Our staff have the desire to better educate themselves through Dog Training College, UK Sniffer Dogs, Uk Mantrailing and The Dog Trainer School to learn new and more up to date techniques that can be used in everyday training.

Any dog, any size!
We run a variety of classes throughout the year. Puppy Classes, Excitable Dog Classes, Recall, Loose Lead Walking, Behaviour Progression, Mantrailing Workshops, Agility Classes and Scent Detection Classes. If they don't work for you, we also offer 1-2-1 classes that can take place wherever you need help the most.

"Together me and my dog Crumpet completed the behaviour progression course with Abbie, it was fantastic! We both absolutely loved our Thursday night training sessions, excited to see what we’d learn together each week.
The training was always full of fun, engaging and enjoyable. Each step of the training was very well taught by Abbie, explained and demonstrated clearly, full of encouragement and praise with no pressure to be perfect which is key with my crazy excited cockapoo. Not only do they help you practise good ways to train your dog she took time out to speak to everyone individually and give help and advice on any issues we were having that was not related to the training class. As there were 5 other puppies training at the same time it was good socialisation too in a group environment that was controlled but not too much. "We recently completed the introduction to mantrailing course with our 1 year old Show Cocker Spaniel, Mabel. I can honestly say it was one of my favourite things to have done with Mabel and I can't wait to book onto a progression course. Leading the session, Gee and Kris, were amazing at talking us through this new skill while it was great fun watching how the other mantrailing teams went about following the trails.
